Last month, I was dealing with red and brown spots all over my chin after uncontrollable hormonal breakouts visited the area and never wanted to leave. After purchasing 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder ($5.80), I experienced something I often experience from The Ordinary products. Results. A brighter face, much less visible lines, and my chin got back to its normal state.
I freshly mix the product for full effectiveness. I mix half a scoop of the product with toner in the balm of my hand. Ferulic serum, toner or a moisturizer can be used with this product half a scoop mixed in with 5-10 drops of serum). I sometimes add some to my hydrating masks for extra brightening.
I felt some tingling (non-irritating) sensation during the first two weeks of use until my skin got used to the formula. This product can’t be mixed with formulations containing Niacinamide or EUK 134, so I only used it with moisturizer after. And alternate times with EUK 134 and Niacinamide products.
I had the Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (10%) and if you are like me forget about some products and return to it after a while, then you will find it oxidizes (from clear to slight orange and later to dark orange) which in this case can be ineffective and potentially damage the skin. The solution for me is a freshly mixed powerful vitamin C. It take more time to mix yes, like 1 minute, I’m lazy! But I give this one A+.
