How Do You Triple Cleanse?

Are You Still Doing Double?

As much as I love wearing makeup. I hate to wear it for the whole day. To be completely honest with you, I hate to feel anything heavy on my skin. The feeling of something sitting on my face makes me do less of it. However, the thought of -A sun followed glow- get me through it. That’s until I go home, triple cleanse and start another series of structuring my face with layers of care. Another thing on my face that I actually don’t mind for the fact that it actually benefits my skin, well, most of the times.

I don’t usually put heavy makeup, or a full face of make up that contains foundation, loose powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner… etc. AKA products that I splurge on. But it’s always the nicest feeling to triple cleanse after a long day of wearing makeup. Yes, three cleansing steps are key. It can be extreme for some people, but If I’m wearing makeup, I like a squeaky clean face at the end of the day.

How To Triple Cleanse

I start with using a cream cleanser on a dry face to gently melt any sunscreen and foundation. I personally prefer cream cleansers over oil. Something like La Roche Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser is the best in my experience. Really cleans and makes the skin smooth. My skin is not a fan of oils that much, but if yours is, coconut oil does wonders. Or you can do your own homemade oil! Lavender, avocado, and tea tree oils are the best to start with. Also, for balms, The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter is really good. After massaging my face with the cleanser, especially my eyes, I use a warm moist washcloth to remove the product and to actually witness all the eye makeup transfer to the washcloth. I feel superior like I’ve defeated the worst.

Next, I use Micellar water for the leftovers. I use Bioderma Micellar water with a cotton pad around the face to get any excess foundation. Some people switch up this step with the first, but I find it very draining if you’re wearing heavy eye makeup and also, you will find yourself using a lot of cotton pads to make sure you got it all out which is always unnecessary.

Finally, I use a gel foaming cleanser. I love my face to be squeaky clean and refreshed that I can start slathering skincare products on a clean canvas. Regularly, I use La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel Cleanser, it’s affordable and does the work. I also use Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser, and the Blue Herbal Acne Cleanser Treatment, because it smells like heaven and really helps my skin in my hormonal days. And that’s how I do it! Now, to you.
