Pumpkin Spice Season is officially here (is it really!?) which brings back my favorite seasonal drink of all! I don’t know why, but I feel that there’s a pumpkin drink for everyone. Some just don’t know it yet.
Since Autumn this year feels like Summer. And maybe, in another chill year, we would only talk about that. But this drink has the amount of chillness that you need without depriving you of the autumn ambiance.
This is what I do every “grand” season. I go to Starbucks and pick the syrup related to this season. They sell it only in the season, so if you prefer a type of syrup that’s associated with a certain season, holiday…etc, go and get it. You will find the Pumpkin sauce around this time of the year (You will find ginger around Christmas). If your Starbucks doesn’t sell this product, you can home make the syrup and use it every time you make a PSL. Alternatively, you can use pumpkin puree with a dash of condensed milk in your recipe, detailed below.
Some ideas to level up your Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte
Whip it because why not
Since I’m having my whipped cream mango konaffa as I’m writing this. I don’t think that there’s anything whipped cream can be capable of lifting.
Pour in an extra shot of Espresso
For the people who don’t like the sweetness of this iced pumpkin spice latte. Three is the magic numbers to balance the taste of the sweetness and get the coffee taste. I do that in all of my lattes. And I don’t know if it’s still considered a latte or not, but this is my way.
Coffee options
You can do a caffeine or decaf version, it’s up to you. You can also add 1/2 cup of extra-strong brewed coffee instead of the two shots of espresso.
It’s all in the pumpkin spice sauce
If your Starbucks doesn’t sell it, make a copycat. Here’s a simple recipe I have tried. The secret ingredient is condensed milk. It gives the creamy texture that you always look for and can’t find. If you don’t want to make a batch and freeze it. Go with the recipe.
Make it a chai pumpkin pie latte
You know me with chai lattes. If you’re a tea gal/ guy, then this one speaks fall. Alternate the espresso with tea and you got yourself a drink.
